Green Luxury for Automotive World

The 10th international CTI Forum at the Düsseldorf Hilton is again bringing together the key players of the automobile industry. This year, the industry can look forward to a particularly interesting event: Kirsten Schönharting’s talk on “future design for high quality textiles”, whose significance is enhanced by the recent design award at the Shell Eco-marathon. In the largest energy efficiency competition in the automotive field, the passenger car prototype “nios” fetched the Design Prize for the world’s most fuel-efficient automotive cockpit, developed by STRÄHLE + HESS in cooperation with university students. With this combination of “sustainable values and green luxury”, said the CEO, the enterprise from Althengstett is taking the lead in new realms of design and is presenting its comfort seats made of the lightest known natural fiber, a highlight of the professional conference on June 8-9 with major auto suppliers as well as representatives of Opel, BMW, or Porsche.
In keeping with this year’s slogan “light and ecological” for the CTI forum “Automotive Seating“, it was natural that Kirsten Schönharting be invited to give a keynote address. CTI stands for “Car Training Institute”, and its professional congresses enable experts from innovative production and supply companies to pass on their practical knowledge. The increasingly high standards for research and development in the automotive industry make this type of exchange more and more essential, says Kirsten Schönharting, who is sure to attract the attention of international specialists in Düsseldorf with her ideas and practical approaches to production.
The CEO regularly takes advantage of this meeting among the best in the industry to expand her knowledge and network of contacts to automotive experts. She sees the CTI forum as a “platform for innovation” and this year’s emphasis on textiles as an opportunity to present the material of the future. “My speech is intended to provide seminal impulses”, says Schönharting, showcasing both the 1001 design options offered by textiles – which STRÄHLE + HESS term “Texspiration” – and the surprising simplicity of solutions that textiles allow for – “Texperience”. The impressive results are demonstrated by the prize-winning “nios” with its extremely light cockpit interior
