For the development of a pattern suitable for production series using the injection moulding technology (e.g. "one-shot-process”) for car roof, personal storage space or the rear injection technique for column linings, it is necessary to develop and adjust the various elements to the customers’ processes. Such developments and adjustments concern design (weave construction, yarns, finishes), foams, fleeces and foils, together with bonding and laminating technologies – also refer to “Technology / Processing”. The constant advance in these applied processes requires continuous product modification and development to guarantee that the required characteristics concerning optics and design feel are present in the finished product (personal storage space, column). In addition, cost effectiveness must be taken into account.

Based on its core technologies and taking into account future requirements of the automotive industry, STRAEHLE + HESS has, through intensive cooperation with customers and development partners, developed PVC free coatings suitable for the conventional downstream HF welding process. This has resulted in numerous process -, cost- and quality advantages, together with a further reduction in the proportional amount of PVC used in cars.
