New ownership at STRÄHLE+HESS

A solid financial basis makes a successful future possible

Private investors are acquiring all shares of STRÄHLE+HESS GmbH, Althengstett, as well as of their subsidiary based in Auburn, Alabama / USA from the insolvency administrator of Sellner Holding GmbH, Dr. Beck und Partner from Nuremberg.

This finally brings to an end almost a year of uncertainty on the company’s fate, allowing employees to take a positive look forwards. Unlike its integration in the Sellner Group structure to date, STRÄHLE+HESS will be able to resolutely pursue its own strategy due to the new ownership structure without having to take other corporate interests into consideration and will also be able to extend its presence in Germany, the US as well as in Asia in the future. “We have been able to find a strong investor with considerable industrial experience and a convincing concept for STRÄHLE+HESS giving the company the chance to have a new start after the insolvency of the parent company,” comments Joachim Exner from Dr. Beck & Partner.

STRÄHLE+HESS is a successful company specialising in innovative textile applications for vehicle interiors. The company currently has a workforce of 160 at its two sites in Germany and the US. Its customers are mainly automobile manufacturers and their tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers. STRÄHLE+HESS was not involved in the insolvency proceedings opened at the beginning of April 2011 against the parent company Sellner Holding GmbH.

The new owners are private individuals with extensive experience in the automobile supplier industry. Their commitment is never of short duration; they commit themselves long term with their own risk capital to successful medium-sized companies. Dr. Beck & Partner, with its interdisciplinary orientation and six locations, is a specialist in bankruptcy law and insolvency administration. While observing the interests of the creditors, the main objective in company bankruptcies is very much to preserve the substance of the company and retain jobs. The company has been involved in a number of famous nationwide proceedings including insolvency administration in the case of Grundig, Photo Porst, Brochier and Plastal.
